What is the truck? ! event to be held in Kakaako

HONOLULU (KHON2) – What is the truck? ! is a new event in Kakaako.

This event will have lots of Hawaiian food, shopping and music.

Over 35 local small businesses are expected, along with retailers and food trucks serving a variety of foods, snacks, soft drinks, pupus and desserts.

Musicians like The Camarillo Brothers, Kamaka and Kalaʻe Camarillo and Lehua Kalima will perform at the former location of Fisherman’s Wharf at the corner of Ward Avenue and Ala Moana Boulevard.

“We look forward to kicking off this new event and bringing the Kakaʻako Makai community together to support local food trucks, small retail businesses, and to enjoy live performances by Native Hawaiian musicians,” said Board Chair. OHA administration, Carmen “Hulu” Lindsey. “This is just another step OHA is taking to revitalize the area and realize Kakaʻako Makai’s vision as a place that supports Hawaiian culture and commerce.”

What is the truck? ! the event begins at 4 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 12 at Kakaako Makai.
