Texas Tribune Festival partners with CBS News for annual event – Deadline

CBS News partners with the Texas Tribune Festival, the annual event that focuses on current affairs and civic engagement.

As part of the partnership, conversations with CBS News correspondents and TribFest reporters will appear on the network’s platforms.

The September 22-24 event will take place in Austin.

Among the events: Maj. Garrett in conversation with national election expert David Becker on “the big lie,” with Texas Tribune CEO Evan Smith as moderator (Sept. 22 at 1:30 p.m. CT); a live recording of Garrett’s podcast The Takeout with Major Garrett (September 23 at 10 a.m. CT); Ed O’Keefe’s interview with former Ohio Governor John Kasich (September 23 at 2:15 p.m. CT); and Robert Costa’s interview with Jan. 6 Committee member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) (Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m. CT).

Garrett and Becker will also sign their book The Big Truth: Maintaining Democracy in the Age of the “Big Lie”, at 2:45 p.m. CT on September 22. Raskin will do a book signing for his Unthinkable at 4:45 p.m. CT on September 23.

The festival, now in its 12th year, returns as an in-person event after two years of virtual panels and keynotes. also features an array of other speakers, including Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Hillary Clinton and New York City Mayor Eric Adams. Complete range here.
