Stand Up for Trans Families Event

The Transgender Education Network of Texas is dedicated to promoting gender equality in Texas. TENT accomplishes its mission through education and networking in public and private forums to end discrimination through social, legislative and corporate education.

Proceeds from the event will help launch an emergency relief fund to help families with trans youth who are in crisis following Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s directive that families should be screened. child abuse investigation.

The event – fun for all ages – will take place Saturday, May 28 at Axelrad BeerGarden, 1517 Alabama St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free Radicals, Babes In Betoland and The Moment will provide live entertainment.

Other entertainment will include a circus show, psychic reading, face painting, henna art application, balloon art, cookie decorating station and a booth where guests can create love letters and support for trans children.

Additionally, there will be a voter registration booth.

Food will be provided by a number of local restaurants and security will be in place.
