Ruling party reserves AIADMK men fearing defeat in polls, EPS says

Defendants in the murder and Kodanad estate robbery were arrested under the AIADMK regime and the DMK helped them secure bail, former chief minister and opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami charged on Tuesday. .

Campaigning for the party’s candidates in Tiruchy, he said the DMK had angered the people over the past nine months in government. Thus, fearing defeat in the polls of the urban local bodies, the DMK government registered lawsuits against the leaders of the AIADMK.

“The AIADMK is the party that has ruled for 30 years in Tamil Nadu and has faced several threats and overcome them. We will never be afraid of these fake cases and will face them all legally,” EPS said.

Claiming that the AIADMK government had only arrested the defendants in murder and burglary cases in the Kodanad estate, EPS accused the DMK lawyers to appear for bail.

“Yet the DMK supported them. AIADMK will never support criminals. But Chief Minister Stalin spread blatant lies against the AIADMK and only the truth will prevail,” he added.

Meanwhile, EPS accused the DMK of making several poll promises but failing to deliver on any of them.

“While Chief Minister Stalin claimed that they had kept 70% of the election promises, his son Udhayanidhi said that they had kept 90% of the election promises. Which is true? Are you fooling people But surely people will definitely teach you a lesson in the polls,” he said.

Earlier, EPS while campaigning in Thanjavur recalled that Chief Minister Stalin was saying that the Pongal festival gift of Rs 2,500, which was disbursed by the AIADMK government, was insufficient.

“Even in the Pongal gift boxes, the DMK government had swindled Rs 410 crore and never delivered on any poll promises,” Palaniswami alleged.
