Yolo County Hosts Agricultural Pesticide Collection and Disposal Event

(Woodland, California) – The Yolo County Department of Agriculture, in partnership with Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, and Sacramento counties, plans to host an agricultural pesticide collection and disposal event.

The event specifically targets agricultural pesticides – unwanted or legacy – from growers who farm in participating counties.

Prior to the event, Agriculture Commissioner staff must gather information to determine an accurate cost estimate and bid with a hazardous materials removal company. This is an amnesty event and no regulatory action will be taken as a result of your participation.

If you would like to participate in this event, please pre-register by completing an online questionnaire at www.surveymonkey.com/r/legacypesticides or by scanning the QR code. If you prefer to complete a paper version of the questionnaire, contact the Yolo County Department of Agriculture at 530-666-8140.

Note: This is not an empty container collection event; the containers must contain the product to be disposed of. If you’re looking to get rid of empty, properly cleaned containers, Yolo County offers a year-round free recycling program. Contact the Yolo County Department of Agriculture for more information at 530-666-8140.
