Party with the Power Squadron | Events

Join the party to find out why boaters have more fun at the Marco Island Sail and Power Squadron Wine and Appetizer Party on Friday, January 28, 2022, at San Marco Catholic Church Parish Hall. The event takes place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and everyone is invited to come and have fun and enjoy great food and wine while contributing to a good cause. Tickets are $25 per person purchased in advance or $30 per person at the door. To purchase tickets in advance, contact Gene Burson at 239-945-1775, or [email protected] Tickets can be picked up at the door by sending a check payable to MISPS for $25 per person by January 21 to Gene at 1865 Apataki Court, Marco Island, Florida, 34145.

The annual wine and appetizer party is the Marco Island Sail and Power Squadron’s only fundraiser. All money raised is used to sponsor boating and safety events, ongoing boater safety and education courses, and free vessel safety checks.

Marco Sail and Power Squadron Master of Ceremonies, Commander Wanda Burson, will be at the center of the event to announce the winning tickets for the raffle prizes every five minutes, the highest bidders for the silent auction, the prize of attendance of $250 and the 50/50 draw for an amount determined by the number of tickets sold.

Partygoers can expect to be treated to a bountiful assortment of fabulous food, from shrimp platters and homemade appetizers to antipasti and dips. Large desserts will be displayed on separate tables with coffee service. The party’s catering tables will be colorfully decorated with a nautical theme created by MISPS Decor Chair Rhonda Gloodt.

The usual wine bar will be run by MISPS Deck Officers. Silent auction tables will be grouped nearby for your convenience. Cold beer and a variety of soft drinks and water will also be available.

Gene Burson, event chairman, reports that prizes and gift certificates for restaurants and services are adding up at a steady pace, including an overnight stay at the JW Marriott and a three-month membership at the Marco Island Yacht Club. There are plenty of fabulous items to bid on in the silent auction and raffle tickets will be available for chances to win items donated by members, local restaurants, merchants and other businesses.

As they begin their 44th year of service to the Marco Island community, members of Sail and Power Squadron look forward to another successful and fun-filled evening as they continue to support savvy and safe boating practices. .
