One of the best board games of all time, Quiplash, is free on Steam this weekend

quiplash, the hilarious sentence-completion board game from Jackbox Games, is available for free on Steam this weekend. The deal runs through April 26 at 1 p.m. ET.

quiplash is definitely my extended family’s favorite game for group gatherings. (Technically, we’re playing Quiplash 2included in Jackbox Party Pack 3, but they are extremely similar games.) The principle is simple. At the start of a round, players will be prompted to fill in a response privately on their smartphone or browser. Then everyone will be able to vote on the best answer as they watch them compete on the main screen (whether it’s a TV, Zoom call, Twitch stream, etc.). More votes equal more points, and the person with the most points at the end wins.

My family can spend hours quiplash trying to make herself cry tears of joy with ever more ridiculous answers. After years of play, we now have dozens of quiplash-in-jokes (to my family who reads this: SSQ), and there are even phrases that we had to ban because people were using them too much. The best of all, quiplash is really easy to play – all you need is a device with a browser. At the price of free, I highly recommend picking it up.

Jackbox Games has also put a bunch of its other games up for sale, and you can browse those deals here.
