Nintendo Direct for third-party games could arrive next week

Another Nintendo Direct presentation is reportedly underway.

This is according to Nacho Requena, the editor of the Spanish gaming magazine, Manual (opens in a new tab). Speaking to viewers in a recent twitch stream (opens in a new tab)Requena hinted that another Nintendo Direct – this time designed to showcase third-party games coming to Nintendo’s super popular handheld system – is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28, 2022.

“We should have a Nintendo Direct next Tuesday,” Requena said during the stream, translated as VGC (opens in a new tab). “It will be primarily focused on third-party games – that’s what I’ve been told to expect.

“I was also told that a Persona game would be present, although I don’t know which game,” Requena added. “I was also told that there will be another game that has been available for some time on other platforms. …it has been available for four years now.”

Could this new presentation reveal ports of Persona 3, 4 and/or 5 – which we know are coming to PlayStation, Xbox and Steam from Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase a few weeks ago (opens in a new tab) – are also on their way to Nintendo Switch?

And what could that other game be – perhaps a Switch port of 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2? For now, all we can do is hope and speculate, but if Requena is right, it won’t be long before Nintendo confirms one way or another.

Of course, it’s only been a few days since we’ve had a new Nintendo Direct, although this one – a 20-minute show that debuted earlier this week – was entirely dedicated to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (opens in a new tab).

Although we have become accustomed to game delays, especially after the pandemic, the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 release date has actually been brought forward as it was. was originally scheduled to launch a few months later (opens in a new tab) in the year in September 2022.

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con drift is (always) a real problem, but with official controllers keeping their MSRP of $79.99 pretty close, finding a quick and affordable replacement while your original is being repaired isn’t a big deal. is not always easy. That’s where Hori’s officially licensed D-Pad controllers come in – and right now you can buy these controllers for just $19.99 in Nintendo Switch deals from Amazon (opens in a new tab).

In the meantime, here is our selection of best nintendo switch games (opens in a new tab) to hold you over until the next Nintendo Direct showcase.
