American Legion Post of Morton Grove, elected officials and citizens honored those who gave their lives to defend the nation during a Memorial Day parade and ceremony on Sunday, May 29.
American Legion Post 134 held the traditional Morton Grove Memorial Day Parade, which marched out of Post headquarters at 1:00 p.m. The 2020 Memorial Day event had been canceled and the 2021 parade only included a ceremony and parade of vehicles, so this year’s event marked a return to Morton Grove’s pre-pandemic way of honoring the deceased on Memorial Day.
Attendees walked a few blocks to the Morton Grove Public Library for speeches by elected officials, tap dancing and time to remember those who gave their lives for freedom.
