Magic in the Air: local party entertainment company plans to reopen by the end of 2022

The magic is coming to town with the reopening company, Magic Mirror Entertainment.

Magic Mirror, a party and event company, offers entertainment packages featuring characters such as princesses, pirates, fairies, superheroes, unicorns and mermaids. Owner and creator Melyssa Meinert began developing Magic Mirror in October 2019 and officially launched her business in March 2020. Unfortunately, COVID-19 hit shortly after they opened, forcing them to wait to fully open.

“I think that kind of helped because once things started to reopen, people were very welcoming to us,” Meinert said. “They were looking for anything at the time and having something new in this area that their kids had never seen before was exciting. Especially some kids being COVID babies they never saw anything like it previously.”

The Magic Mirror characters resemble those from familiar fairy tales, Meinert said, but are the company’s own designs. The company offers four packages. Each includes a speed date, a song to sing, a coronation with a gift, singing “Happy Birthday” with their favorite characters, photos and autographs.

“All kids deserve magic, just because they can’t afford to go to Disney doesn’t mean they can’t have the magic that a childhood brings,” Meinert said.

Meinert has always been passionate about children and pursued a degree in educational studies. As a 24-year-old from the Ormond Beach area, she said she wanted to bring magic to children’s lives without costing their parents their entire savings account.

Magic Mirror Entertainment will reopen by the end of this year with an expanded cast, characters, and locations as they host parties and events from Volusia to St. Johns Counties.
