Limpopo EFF raise alarm after party member kidnapped
The Limpopo EFF have pressed a panic button following the kidnapping of one of their members from his home earlier this week.
In a statement on Wednesday, the party’s provincial spokesman, Titus Tshungu, said Gift Mpho Malope went missing on Monday and her whereabouts were unknown.
“Gift, who is an EFF member from Elias Motsoaledi’s Ward 21, was abducted by unknown suspects who were seen driving away with her in a white Honda sedan from her home in Kgaphamadi village,” Tshungu said.
The news follows news of the kidnapping and murder of Hillary Gardee, whose body was found in a veld outside Nelspruit in Mpumalanga on Tuesday last week.
Hillary, the daughter of former EFF general secretary Godrich Gardee, was shot in the head. She was buried over the weekend.
Tshungu said local residents only saw the car drive away but could not see what Malope, 31, was carrying.
“As a result, the EFF is appealing to the public for assistance in locating Gift. Anyone with information that could help police find him is asked to contact the police,” it said. -he adds.
