Glastonbury sisters to give gifts to celebrities on Oscars pre-party

GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – Jewelery is what two Glastonbury sisters know, and it’s what they’ve done for three generations at Baribault Jewelers.

Christina Baribault-Ortiz and Raeann Baribault Schwartz are the designers of the Power to B collection.

“Being involved in improving people’s minds every day is my dream, and for me, it’s so much more than just jewelry, and I’m so excited,” Baribault-Ortiz said.

Now they’re taking the dream to Hollywood, but the journey to get there has been far from easy.

“I wanted to be a mom, and nothing could stop me, but it was still so difficult,” said Christina Baribault-Ortiz.

The Power to B is a collection of wristbands meant to inspire with messages such as “Bfearless” and “Bstrong”. The collection was inspired by six long years of battling infertility.

“It started with post-its on our mirror, reminding us that we were strong, that we could go through anything,” Baribault Schwartz said. “Then, over time, we realized how powerful those longings were, and we wanted to share them with more than just people in their fertile time.”

Their collection will be the exclusive jeweler at GBK Brand Bar in Hollywood this month. Ahead of the 94th Academy Awards, the sisters will help 100 celebrities choose a powerful word to wear on their wrist.

“Celebrity, not fame, anyone, it can work magic for them,” Baribault Schwartz said.

If you’re having trouble understanding your word, there’s an online tool that can help.

“When I felt struggling and challenged, I would glimpse a powerful visual reminder and I could keep going,” Baribault-Ortiz said. “I was fired up, refueled. I might do the next thing.

These sisters kept an eye on the prize. There are now five children between them.
