Founded in 1982, Kendall-Jackson is one of America’s most beloved family wineries. While the Jackson family’s historical legacy in winemaking runs deep, the family’s efforts in the world of elite horse racing are less well known.

In 2021, Kendall-Jackson officially became the Kentucky Derby’s Favorite Wine, combining their love and commitment to winemaking with their passion for elite horse racing through a four-year partnership with Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby. .

The best news? Wine connoisseurs and horse racing enthusiasts won’t have to compete for a coveted spot on Churchill Downs’ Millionaire’s Row to celebrate. As favorite Kentucky Derby wines, Kendall-Jackson will host the West Coast Kentucky Derby’s biggest party at Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens. Kendall-Jackson’s beautiful four-acre Culinary Garden, expansive lawn and outdoor patio will provide the perfect setting for a fun-filled day of wine, food, fashion, horse racing and entertainment. The party is for a good cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit Sonoma County’s Meals on Wheels program.

Derby Day festivities at Kendall-Jackson will include a big-screen viewing of the Kentucky Derby one-day races, fashion contests, an on-site milliner creating one-of-a-kind hats and Derby-inspired Southern cuisine paired with wines Kendall-Jackson’s award-winning, including the Kendall-Jackson co-branded limited edition and Kentucky Derby Memorial Wines.

No Derby event would be complete without the iconic mint juleps. Young & Yonder Spirits, a Healdsburg craft distillery, will showcase its Straight Bourbon whiskey in signature cocktails, local favorite Seismic Brewing Company will pour its new beers, Ferrero Golden Gallery Signature will offer treats and local dining partners will offer small bites. Additional entertainment includes a raffle, live music, bugler, coffee truck, cartoonist, and more.

The Kendall-Jackson team is thrilled to be able to bring the excitement of the Kentucky Derby to Sonoma County and welcome guests to celebrate a new Derby tradition at Kendall-Jackson’s home.
