During the extended Xbox Games Showcase, new details about the upcoming Forza Horizon 5 have been revealed. This time, Playground Games is talking about the Event Lab, a new feature allowing players to create their own adventures and board games.
This fall, the Horizon Festival moves to Mexico, bringing the biggest and most diverse open world in the series. Forza Horizon 5 creative director Mike Brown appeared during the extended Xbox showcase to highlight the vision the team had while working on the ambitious title. According to him, the developers were very excited about the culture of the country they are going to recreate, and every effort is made to make the feeling of the dynamic region as authentic as possible.
Besides the completely new and beautiful world of Horizon 5, there will be many additional gameplay features for fans. One of them is Event Lab, a new set of tools for the racing community to create anything they can imagine. You can not only develop your own racing event or championship in Forza Horizon 5, but create an all-new map or special competition from scratch while inventing your own rules for participating. All creative freedom will be open to players to experiment with.
In the demo, Playground Games showed off a custom map, where cars are used as bowling balls. In Horizon 5’s online multiplayer, players will be able to easily team up with others for such events. Additionally, you can set up a diverse mix of different challenges to bring friends to your Party Game, like in Burnout Paradise. All that remains is to recreate Rocket League in the new Forza game.
Previously, Mike Brown revealed that Forza Horizon 5’s multiplayer called Horizon Open was designed with the goal of everyone having fun rather than getting angry trying to do their best to win the event. “It’s meant to be lower pressure, more inclusive, more accessible,” Brown explained.
Forza Horizon 5 is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 9. Microsoft revealed earlier that this next-gen racing title alongside other announced projects will be possible for Xbox One owners through the xCloud streaming service.
