Decorating ideas for the holidays to steal from a designer’s studio

For this week’s House Calls special edition, we’re heading to Red Hook, Brooklyn, where we feasted on Jean Lee and Dylan Davis, co-founders of the inventive design studio Ladies and Gentlemen Studio.

The couple’s studio, located in a pre-Civil War building a few blocks from their apartment, has two separate spaces, perfect for hosting workshops and vacation reunions with their creative colleagues. The original fireplace, both a centerpiece and an easy way to grill party-friendly kebabs, creates a ‘cozy campfire feeling’, while plants, art and dishes displayed on open shelves give guests a feeling of warmth and privacy.

With the holidays upon us, we’ve picked up a few space products – or similar finds – to fully inspire you to throw your own perfect get-together this season.
