Back to School, Yard in Community Event Saturday – Welcome to the City of Fort Worth

District 8 Council Member Chris Nettles will be hosting a back-to-school and community back-to-school event on Saturday, August 13 at the William M. McDonald YMCA, 2701 Moresby St.

Free backpacks and school supplies will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food trucks, activities and games will be offered to families.

Participating City of Fort Worth departments include Communications and Public Engagement, Transportation and Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Neighborhood Services, City Clerk, Information Technology Services, code compliance, diversity and inclusion, municipal court, fire department, police and police comptroller’s office.

Goodwill of North Central Texas and Legal Aid of North West Texas will be present to share information.

Court in the Community

Fort Worth Municipal Court judges will conduct court in the community from 9 a.m. to noon.

Anyone who has outstanding citations with the Fort Worth City Court can appear in court at the community event, without fear of arrest for their cases, to resolve their outstanding cases and may be eligible for alternatives such as community service or a reduction of his fine. based on ability to pay.
