AIADMK cadres should start working for assembly elections, says opposition EPS leader – The New Indian Express

KALLAKURICHI: AIADMK cadres must strive to win the assembly elections, which are to be held alongside the parliamentary elections, in Kallakurichi, said Tamil Nadu opposition leader and deputy party coordinator, Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Palaniswami was speaking as a chief guest at the May Day public meeting at the AIADMK Anna Syndicate in Ammapettai village on Sunday evening. “Applicants must prove that Kallakurichi is the home of AIADMK,” he added.

The opposition party leader charged, “AIADMK never hesitates to do good for the public. cannot come to power because he has earned the ire of the public over the past year.” Prices for items have increased over the past year, he said, adding that power cuts have also increased, he added. “The Chief Minister says there are no power cuts, but one occurred at one of his events,” he alleged.

According to Palaniswami, the AIADMK fought against NEET even after the death of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. “The AIADMK government passed a 7.5% inter-grant law to help realize the dreams of students in rural areas, who want to become doctors and through this law, 540 students became doctors this year,” said he declared.

“After the polls of the urban local authorities, the tax on the assets was increased up to 150%. It was a gift to the public from the DMK ruler for their election victory. In a few days, they will increase the electricity tariff at 40% as well as milk price,” he said.People suffer when DMK comes to power, Palaniswami said.
